The scene was Jeepers and Jeeps everywhere. The sea of purple shirts are members from the South Pointe Off-Road Club, just one of several enthusiast groups in attendance.

Turn out was just fantastic. You’d be hard pressed to see everything as the show spilled out packing four or five lots with Jeeps coming and going throughout the day.

Jeeps are cool because you can park them like THAT!

51st Annual Easter Jeep Safari Underway

Easter Jeep Safari is a nine day off road event hosted by Red Rock 4-Wheelers. Established in 1967 by the Moab chamber of commerce, leveraging exceptional trail assets and stunning natural beauty the event has grown to be one of biggest and the best known national riding event in the Jeeping community.

In coordination with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the club, Red Rock 4-Wheelers, has expanded trails and provided local stewardship giving the venue strong off road relevance. The event attracts enthusiasts and manufactures a like with Jeep (FCA), now a fixture, annually show casing their concept vehicles at Moab.

Sugar Shakers Meetup at Flossie’s

	One of several old time Florida establishments in the Fort Lauderdale area, Flossie’s is a great place to hang out with friends. Live band or karaoke, there always entertainment to go with your festive libations under their locally infamous Tiki Bar. Yah! Fill that lot up with Jeeps!
	… and Jeepers from clubs all over mixing it up.

Food Truck Invasion Meetup at Quiet Waters

Organized by Trail Rated Events, the Jeep Meetup at the Quiet Waters Food Truck Invasion is a great opportunity to grab a unique culinary creation and check out some unique Jeep creations. Organizers have conveniently carved out a spot up front right next to the food trucks, reserved just for Jeeps!

Meetups are great a way to check out the tricked out, get an issue all figured out, and to find out when a trail ride is setting out.

Chill’n @ Lucky Cole’s Outpost

Just a little ways down the east end of Loop Road, among the scattered bits of old Florida is Lucky Cole’s Outpost. Owned and operated by professional photographer “Lucky” Cole, it’s a respite from the restraints of overly civilized living. Often a destination for Harley riders, Lucky and his oasis played host to Jeeps form the Sugar Shakers Motors Club and the Greater Florida Jeep Trail Team. Ahhh… not a bad Father’s Day Weekend.

Father’s Day Weekend Ride

Sometimes the biggest challenge in wheeling is not the terrain but just finding the time and a place close enough for everyone to get together and toss a little mud around. Happy to say this weekend was the right time and a point just off Alligator Alley was the right place.

A huge thanks to the Greater Florida Jeep Trails Team for having us in their company on this ride. Great choice in location, it had a pleasantly remote feel and was peppered with plenty of cool surprises.

Lively at Big Dawgs 3 Sport Cafe

Thursday night’s meetup at Big Dawgs is one of the largest regular gathering of Jeeps in West Broward. G’it on down for a lot full of tall rigs and cold brews.

Tap Shack – Jeep Meetup

Jeep Off Road Adventures dropped in on the Tap Shack meet up with the guys from Jeeps Gone Wild. As the lot cleared out by night’s end, some of the night owls got a little practice with wheel climbing.

An XJ (Cherokee) rests its front driver side tire on a built up TJ fitted out for rock cawling. A cool trick on its own but made a lot harder as the XJ has the smaller tires and stiffer suspension. Nicely done!

If you have a spare hour or two on a Thursday night, come on out and get an eye full of their’s and everyone else’s rigs. Stay a little late and watch it get a little edgy.

Jeep Gone Country Weekend

Word of a new off-road course drew in hundreds of Jeeps to Gone Country Weekend at Redneck Yacht Club. Jeepers from all over South Florida decended on RYC in Punta Gorda to test rig and skill against the massive and daunting obstacles that until five weeks prior were a quiet corner of pasture land.

Two very strong course were developed, rated moderate and extreme turned out to be rated a bit shy of their real character. The moderate course while passable on 35″s offered some very serious challenges in climbs and crawls while the extreme course was just down right hellishly brutal.

Of course with entrance, the whole of RYC was available to play in. This included wooded trails and and of course all the mud you and your Jeep can endure. For anyone looking to stay over the weekend the park offers both field and wooded camp grounds (depending on whether you’re that rough it out or RV person).

For those looking for free wheeling and trails RYC opened the wooded back 40.
